Alto Electrical offers bespoke installations, repairs, refurbishments and rewiring services for heritage sites, including listed buildings. We deliver successful projects on time and within the budget.

We install specialist containment systems and refurbish historic electrical fittings and fixtures with meticulous attention to detail.

The first thing we do when we receive a request to carry out some heritage work, is to research the building. This is so we can get a feel for the history, and identify areas that we need to take particular care. At Alto we are passionate about protecting your building from unnecessary disruption, and damage to crucial characteristics. By reusing any previous holes, notches and cables runs, whilst also taking care to cover any previous damage with the new installation, if this is feasible.

Being creatively minded, we can help you decide exactly what you want your new installation to look like. If you do not have the fittings that you wish to have fitted, we can work with specialist companies that take a drawing of what you would like, and turn it into a reality, whether it is something that looks traditional or a complimentary statement piece. We can help.

We take time to plan how we are going to protect any significant or fragile aspects and we have invested heavily in protective equipment that we use to ensure that no harm comes to any existing features and even enables us to bring in large access equipment and know that even the flooring is safe. Protecting the rest of the building from dust and disruption by preparing any areas beforehand by cordoning off space that we do not need to access, and protecting the rest of the are from dust, paying particular care to any significant features.

Whether it be building or lighting design, we work with other trusted heritage specialists locally and nationally that we are able to put you in touch with for other aspects of work on your project. We are registered with the NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting ) and we are accredited members of the Guild of Master Craftsmen.

Heritage Building, Grade II Listed 1872 Victorian Townhouse Renovation
[Alto Electrical] came up with ideas that were brilliant and sensible and they pointed out things that were dangerous that I wasn’t even aware of. They got on my wavelength and understood that I wanted to conserve things that were features and install things that were in keeping with the style of the house. They also offered me very helpful advice on technical issues such as buying a single room heat recovery system and thanks to their advice, I believe I saved money.
